work efficiency

Just read one article from the latest Money magazine about work efficiency. I think it is very helpful. There are four main points:
1. Focus on BIG items to do (control the temptation to do SMALL items)
Big Items are most meaning things.
2. Do not open EMAIL in the first hour at work, instead of that, sort things out first.
At most EMAIL will delay for one hour, but you are guaranteed to have a clear thinking for that day.
3. Stop multi-tasking
It takes longer time to resume your thoughts. Take a short break and continue.
4. Get off half an hour earlier.
You will have the ergency to finish your task ASAP.

interview, work and life

Thursday I will go to Seattle for an interview. It is a small startup company called myrio . They will pay for my air tickets and cab fees in Seattle.

I have not travelled for quite sometime, half a year to be exact. Last time I travelled back to Beijing, China.

I have never attended an on-site fly-in interview, so I am a little bit excited about this.

My goal is to find a ideal position in Chicago area, so far I have not got much response from the employers in that area yet. I am also contacting employers in Seattle area. Unfortunately, due to my lack of preparation, I lost the opportunity to join Amazon.com.

Boss is on vacation for two weeks for his second kid. But my workload is heavy as usual. Same stuff day in and day out, I am really tired of it.

It is time to make some change and move on...
